Let's Go Lego!

The Family Program

What is the Program?

This program is designed to support families to strengthen communication, build healthier relationships, and develop emotional regulation skills in a practical and engaging way. Through shared activities, families are supported to work together, problem-solve, and reflect on their interactions in a safe and supportive environment.

How is the Program Delivered?

The program is delivered face-to-face at the Hurstbridge Community Hub over eight weeks.
Each weekly session runs for 1 hour, with the exception of the first and final sessions, which run for 1.5 hours. These longer sessions include an additional 30 minutes at the beginning for an initial consultation and review.

What Happens in the Sessions?

Each session involves a structured LEGO®-based therapy task designed to encourage collaboration, communication, and emotional awareness.

  • Every family member is assigned a specific role during the activity

  • Roles rotate every 10–15 minutes, allowing each person to experience all roles

  • Once the task is completed (or time has finished), the session concludes with guided reflection and group discussion

These discussions help families explore what worked well, what was challenging, and how these experiences relate to everyday family life.

Free play with Lego for extra bonding time is available if all roles are completed earlier.

Who Runs the Program?

All sessions are facilitated by Alex Keegan, Clinical Social Worker and trained LEGO®-Based Therapy Practitioner, who provides a supportive, strengths-based approach tailored to each family.

Who can attend the sessions?

Each session can have up to four participants. These can be a mixture of parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc over the eight weeks. We recommend the first session be at least the immediate family members.

How Much Is It?

Sessions are $200 per one hour session and $240 per 1.5 hours. Payment will be charged to the card on file at the end of the session.
